Painted Turtle

Over the weekend I went hiking up to Lake Maria State Park in Minnesota. The area is so beautiful and I wished I could have stayed longer. There is about 14 miles of hiking trails and I was only about to hike about 7 miles.... That's what happens when you get a late start. Hopefully next time I'll be able to do the rest of the trails. Next week I'm going to be hiking the Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge.

While hiking on a less traveled path I came upon this Painted Turtle. Good thing I had been looking down or I may have passed him by.. or worse yet.. Stepped on him. This definitely made the hike for me.
